I have been a Formula One fan for many years. The sport is very addicting and fun. Some people don’t get it when they get to watch it with me. They usually ask “what’s so great about it? the cars are just going round and round?”. ^^ I just look at them funny sometimes since it will be a waste of breath trying to get them to understand.
Words are not enough to justify my admiration for the sport. The sights, sounds and energy brought about this sport is amazing to watch and experience. The speed that these formula one cars can achieve is absolutely mind-blowing. The technology being used is in the forefront of it all. You’ve got to watch it to know what it’s like. I have yet to actually watch a Formula One race live. I’m hoping to catch the first ever Singapore Grand Prix this year on the last weekend of September. *crossing my fingers* It will be a dream come true when everything goes according to plan.
Specifically, I am a Ferrari and Michael Schumacher fan. I have been following the sport since the late 90’s until he retired. So naturally, I lost interest in the sport in the past season. He is arguably the best Formula One driver — also people either love him or hate him for various reasons. But he is “statistically the best Formula One driver”, according to wikipedia.
I came across the qualifying race on TV last weekend. And out of curiosity I wanted to know if Ferrari won. It was a pleasant surprise when Ferrari was 1-2 (meaning the two current Ferrari drivers, Raikkonen and Massa, ended up winning the first and second places in the race standing, which translates to the reliability and outstanding performance of the Ferrari team that weekend). It feels like the old times when Schumacher was still driving for Ferrari. I will definitely check on the Formula One races from time to time to see how Ferrari is doing.
Additionally, I also read that Michael is the test driver for Ferrari which started in the just concluded Spanish Grand Prix. Methinks, He probably missed the life of a Formula One driver.
But he is definitely an asset to the team especially now that he has chosen a more active role.
