Movies

I have been excited with the Iron Man movie eversince I saw the trailer a few weeks ago in one of the Superbowl Ads. This is the link to my previous post. This movie is scheduled to be released on May 2nd. (Yey! 2 months to go!)

Downey in Iron Man

In anticipation for the film, I want to share the new Iron Man trailer I found in MovieWeb (you can click on the link to see more trailers for this movie). Robert Downey Jr. is rocking those new hard-earned muscles. While Gwyneth Paltrow is sporting a strawberry blonde ‘do for her role in the film. I love the special effects.

You can check the new trailer in my vodpod or just check the right column of this page.

Updates! Updates!

The G.I. Joe movie has started shooting, and the first picture from the set has been released. IESB.net has revealed a picture of Dennis Quaid dressed for his role as General Hawk.

Destro has been Recast! Instead of David Murray, now it will be Christopher Eccleston. David Murray has had some problem getting a U.S. working visa that might result to a delay in the production so the studio decided to just recast the role so they can start production as planned.

JumperJumper

* I just watched the movie Jumper. I hate to say this but I was disappointed. If you are looking for a movie that could fill some extra time you might have then this movie is not for you. It doesn’t even deserve it.  Find something else better to do or even watch. Because if you have seen the trailer then thats as good as it gets. That’s the whole concept of the movie, Yes he discovered he can “jump” which is a term used when you have an ability to teleport yourself from one place to anywhere in the world, then there’s the prerequisite love angle in the embodiment of Rachel Bilson (who plays up her sweet girl-next-door-role from The O.C.).. Cool concept but the story dwelled too much on the love story between Hayden and Rachel. It lacks substance in my opinion. Also the movie was leaning on Christensen’s good looks to sell this movie.  I wished I could take my 90 minutes back.

 Juno

* I have also watched Juno. Now this is a must-see movie. I adore Ellen Page as the quirky lead character. It’s refreshing and poignant at the same time. Her parents are so cool and supportive of her situation. While, Bleeker is so amazingly and adorably clueless. It just goes to show how young he is. Overall, this is worth watching. Plus, the soundtrack is a must-have as well.

While browsing thru the Super Bowl Ads in AOL, I saw that there’s a new trailer for Wall*E movie. It features Toy Story’s famous duo, Woody and Buzz Lightyear. And finally, I was able to see a teaser for the Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. You can check out both videos at the same place as all my videos. Enjoy!

I’ve added two videos in my vodpod or check the lower right side of this webpage.

First video features one of my favorite South Korean actress, Choi Ji Woo, and Japanese actor/singer, Takuya Kimura, doing a skit for a Japanese show. The title of the video is Old Maid. On the video, both superstars are each trying to outwit the other over a card game to get the ultimate “prize”. You need to watch it to know what the prize is since I’m not gonna tell.

While the second video is a trailer for the movie, Iron Man, which was shown during the Super Bowl game last February 3rd. The movie stars Robert Downey Jr. I know Robert Downey Jr in a Marvel comics movie. Better watch it to believe it. This looks like another must-see movie for me.

I recently heard that Hollywood is planning to make a live action “G.I. Joe” movie. It will be directed by Stephen Sommers  who also directed The Mummy, The Mummy Returns and Van Helsing.

GI Joe

They have a alot of actors lined up to play the main characters from G.I. Joe and Cobra: Dennis Quaid (General Hawk), Channing Tatum (Duke Hauser), Sienna Miller (The Baroness), Ray Park (Snake Eyes), Rachel Nichols (Scarlett), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Heavy Duty), Said Taghmaoui (Breaker), Marlon Wayans (Ripcord), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Rex), Arnold Vosloo (Zartan) and Lee Byung Hun (Storm Shadow).

The live-action movie is set to be released August 7, 2009.

I’m keeping my eye on this. The choice of actors are quite interesting - darth maul and the evil mummy is included with some of my favorites. Hopefully, it will be as good as that other 80’s cartoon remake, Transformers, you might have heard of it since it raked in millions of dollars in the box-office worldwide.

I’ve added a video in my vodpod or simply check the vodpod link on your right. It’s a video of the G.I. Joe cartoon series opening theme.

Since we are already in the topic of movies, here is a list of movies I am looking forward to watching in no particular order:

1. Jumper - starring Darth Vader, Summer Roberts and Samuel L. Jackson. (I know those are not their real names, except for the last one. But for the life of me I couldn’t remember Hayden’s last name and the O.C. girl’s name.) Here’s the official website. In theatres February 14th. Ok. I-googled it and their names are Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson.

2. Wanted - starring James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie (who’s back to her bad-as.s roles) and Morgan Freeman. If only for the sole reason of seeing Mrs Brad Pitt kick some as.s. Here’s the official website to view the teaser. In theatres June 27th.

3. Horton Hears A Who - with the voices of Jim Carrey and Steve Carell. Bound to be funny, need I say more. Check out the website here. In theatres March 14th.

4. Narnia: Prince Caspian - seems exciting enough. I didn’t watch the first movie in the theatres just waited for the DVD release. I might give this a try though. (The guy who plays Prince Caspian, his name is Ben Barnes, is the same actor who portrayed the young Dunston Thorne in Stardust.) I couldn’t find the official website, so it might not have one yet.

5. Fool’s Gold - check out the trailer here. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey stars as the troubled couple. In theatres February 8th. Loved the couple in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days so I will keep my eyes peeled for this.

If I come up with more, i will let you know.

Its Monday where I am and I’ve been hit with the blues.

I’m listening now to alternative rock on LAUNCHcast and it fits my mood. It just played Linkin Park –the angst and Chester’s wailing — just perfect. Don’t get me wrong I love Linkin Park (for real). It got me through my angst-ridden younger years haha…

Now let’s think happy thoughts…happy thoughts

I have just the thing. I just watched a movie yesterday and I saw the trailer for the new movie from Disney Pixar, Wall-E. I just feel for the little guy. He’s adorable. Just look at the photo below.

Wall-E

I looked up more info about him and here’s what I found in the apple website:

What if mankind had to leave Earth, and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off? Academy Award-winning writer-director Andrew Stanton (“Finding Nemo”) and the inventive storytellers and technical geniuses at Pixar Animation Studios (“The Incredibles,” “Cars,” “Ratatouille”) transport moviegoers to a galaxy not so very far away for a new computer-animated cosmic comedy about a determined robot named WALL*E. After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL*E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL*E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet’s future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL*E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most exciting and imaginative comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen. Joining WALL*E on his fantastic journey across a universe of never-before-imagined visions of the future, is a hilarious cast of characters including a pet cockroach, and a heroic team of malfunctioning misfit robots.

If you want to check out the trailer, please visit my vodpod. It’s funny especially that scene where he is rummaging thru the trash. Check it out.

For those who have that wonderful invention called Ipods, you can download the trailer from the apple website, too. (yey! just did)

It’s also exciting to note if that big goliath of a robot/spaceship that Wall-E encountered is EVE. Wonder what that name stands for?

For those who are interested, the movie is set to be in theatres June 27th, 2008. Can’t wait.
